Seven of our party (Eric, Heather, Craig, Matt, Allie, Dave & Claire) went into Paris today. Pat got up at 4:30 in order to get them to the high-speed train in Tours by 6:00 a.m. The rest of us rested at our chateau, and we babysat Aubrie. While we were having a relaxing picnic lunch outside, a bee began to pester us and ended up stinging Aubrie on her thumb. She was shocked and outraged, but she came through okay.
Around 5:30 we drove both cars to Tours. Their train came in at 6:15 p.m., and we all walked a few blocks to visit the cathdral in Tours. The cathedral was very old and extremely tall. Beautiful stained glass windows. From there we found a little bistro and had dinner. Everyone tried new things: duck, rabbit, veal. The food was delicious. Back at the chateau, the Paris travelers fell exhausted into bed.

The pool was great for cooling off after a hot day of walking around touring castles. Aubrie
referred to it as "our castle" and she, of course, was the princess.

It was a very vertical cathedral, with incredible carvings and stonework.
